In an effort to engage the community, Musk incentivizes civic participation with cash prizes for residents who support the petition.

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — During a town hall in Pennsylvania on Saturday night, Elon Musk revealed plans to distribute a million-dollar check daily until the election. The Tesla CEO stated that the funds will go to individuals who sign his petition advocating for free speech and the right to bear arms.

"I have a surprise for you," Musk announced. "We're giving away a million dollars daily to those who sign the petition, right up until the election."

He added, "How do we spread the word about this petition? The mainstream media isn’t covering it, and not everyone is on X. So I thought, this news will definitely get people’s attention."

At the Harrisburg town hall, the first winner was John Dreher, who called himself a "big fan" of Musk. After presenting the award, Musk requested that Dreher serve as a spokesperson for the petition.

Dreher congratulated Musk on his recent SpaceX rocket catch, expressing gratitude and sharing that he’s been a fan for years. 

"I got your autobiography ten years ago and have followed you ever since," Dreher told Musk. "I’m a big fan."

This announcement comes just days after Musk started offering $100 to those who sign the petition, a move he shared on his platform X.
